Author's Biography
Sidney W. Frost is an Elder in
the Presbyterian Church and was a Vestry member in the Episcopal
Church in several parishes. He's also a Stephen Leader, a Stephen
Minister, and a member of his church choir. While singing with the
Austin Lyric Opera Chorus, he was in 42 productions. He is an
Adjunct Professor at Austin Community College where he teaches
computer courses.
While
attending the University of Texas in the 1960's with fellow Combine
member Rollo Newsom he worked part-time at the Austin Public Library
driving a bookmobile. That's where he met the Liz character, the
librarian who went out of her way to help others. However, Mr. Frost
never knew anyone at the library like Mrs. Varner. As far as he
knows, no one associated with the Austin Public Library has ever
done anything criminal. Mrs. Varner was added at the insistence of
writing classmates and editors who suggested the story needed more conflict. Mr.
Frost, a former U.S. Marine, was a founding member of the Combine, and the
group
still holds monthly meetings.
Mr. Frost
and his wife Lois, the choir director in his church, married each
other when they were both in their mid-fifties, he after divorce and she after becoming
a widow. They live in Sun City Texas, a retirement community in
Georgetown, Texas where he plans to move the bookmobile in a future
book.
Sidney W. Frost co-authored the
non-fiction book, Automated Law Office System, published by
West Publishing Company, and has had a number of non-fiction
articles published.
